Mari took to social media to announce the news, and shared a picture of Udhayanidhi from the film.

This project, backed by Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies, has music by AR Rahman, which marks the first time the filmmaker is working with the Oscar winner. It is also the first time a Udhayanidhi film will have music by Rahman.

Maamannan is also anticipated for the return of Vadivelu, who is on a comeback spree, and is starring as the lead in Suraaj's Naai Sekar Returns
