The test shoot of Suriya's upcoming film Vaadivaasal is currently progressing in ECR, Chennai. With the film being based on jallikattu, the makers have recreated the setting required for the sport. Director Vetrimaaran, Suriya and producer Kalaippuli S Thanu are spotted in the location stills leaked online.

Vaadivaasal is based on the Tamil novel of the same name written by CS Chellappa. Vetrimaaran had notably acquired the rights for adapting the novel as early as 2017.

GV Prakash Kumar, a frequent collaborator of Vetrimaaran, is composing the music for Vaadivaasal.

The film's actual shoot is expected to begin only after Suriya and Vetrimaaran are done with their pending commitments.

Vetrimaaran is currently awaiting the release of Viduthalai, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Soori in the lead roles. Suriya, on the other hand, is most likely to start works on Bala's film next.
