Vijayakanth undergoes operation due to diabetes 

In a response to many rumours about actor-politician Vijayakanth's health, DMDK has released an official statement claiming that the political leader is stable after undergoing an operation. 

One of the leader's toes was severed as the blood flow to the area was affected due to diabetes-related complications. He is currently in the hospital under observation. The statement further read that Vijayakanth is currently in stable condition and expected to return home in a few days. 

The DMDK office also requested people not to believe the rumours and speculations on social media. 

Vijayakanth has been battling health issues for a while now. He underwent treatment in foreign countries over the years. He hasn't been making many public appearance lately and was last seen in the film, Sahaaptham (2015).
