Vikram-Ranjith film to go on floors in July

The film marks the first collaboration between Ranjith and Vikram

Published: 14th June 2022

It was announced in December last year that filmmaker Pa Ranjith and actor Vikram will be teaming up for a project. A source close to the unit shares that the shooting of the film will commence on July 15 in Chennai. The film is tentatively titled Chiyaan 61.

Produced by KE Gnanavelraja through his production house, Studio Green, the film marks the first collaboration between Ranjith and Vikram. Considering the nascency of the project, details such as the theme, cast and crew are currently under tight wraps.

In addition to this project, Ranjith has a long lineup of projects, both as a director and producer. His next directorial venture, Natchathiram Nagargirathu, starring Kalidas Jayaram and Dushara Vijayan in lead roles, is awaiting release. He has also announced multiple projects including a follow-up to Sarapatta Parambarai, Vettuvam, and a film based on the life of Birsa Munda.

Vikram, on the other hand, has the long-awaited Dhruva Natchathiram, Ponniyin Selvan and Cobra, in his slate of releases.
