Pa Ranjith to produce Guru Somasundaram's next

The untitled film will mark the actor's first collaboration with the director-producer

Director Pa Ranjith, who is also known for producing films like Pariyerum Perumal and Writer, is now bankrolling a film starring Guru Somasundaram in the lead. Directed by Ranjith's friend and associate director Dhinakar, the film went on floors earlier today. 

Speaking about the film, a source close to the unit said, "It's a film with comical and emotional elements and will showcase the journey of a drunkard who is supposed to be the head of a family. Sanchana Natarajan, who was seen recently in Ranjith's Sarpatta Parambarai, is playing the female lead and the rest of the cast includes Merku Thodarchi Malai-fame Anthony, Maran, John Vijay and Sabitha Rai. The film will be shot completely in and around Chennai."

With music by Sean Roldan, the untitled film's cinematography is by Roopesh. The project is bankrolled by Ranjith's Neelam Productions in collaboration with Arunbalaji's Balloon Pictures.

Meanwhile, Ranjith is awaiting the release of Natchathiram Nagargirathu. He has projects like Vettuvam and a film with Vikram in different stages of production.
