The teaser of Dhanush’s upcoming bilingual film Vaathi/Sir, was released by the makers on social media, on Thursday, marking the occasion of the actor’s birthday.

The one-minute teaser features Dhanush as a junior lecturer and the film seems to focus on the subject of education being used as a business. The teaser also features extensive stunt sequences, including one that has the actor in Subramania Bharathi's outfit.

On Wednesday, the makers had released the first look poster of the film, featuring Dhanush sitting on a chair, as he writes something, against the backdrop of what looks to be a library. Directed by Telugu filmmaker Venky Atluri, the film has been planned as a Tamil-Telugu film. Titled Sir in Telugu, it has Malayalam actor Samyuktha Menon as the female lead, playing the role of a teacher.

Vaathi also stars Sai Kumar and veteran Tanikella Bharani in prominent roles. It has music by GV Prakash, cinematography by Yuvraj, and editing by Navin Nooli.

The film is produced jointly by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.
