First single from Ponniyin Selvan to be out on this date

We had previously reported that Mani Ratnam's next film will be Ponniyin Selvan, the adaptation of Kalki's yesteryear classic, News about the film's first single is now out. 

Madras Talkies banner's Twitter profile confirmed with a new poster that the first single is titled Ponniyin Nadhi and it will be released on 31st July at 6 pm. The announcement was made along with a new poster of Karthi who plays the role of Vanthiyathevan. The song's Hindi, Malayalam and Telugu versions will also be out on the same date and time. 

The film also features a massive ensemble cast that includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu and Parthiban, among others. 

The film has cinematography by Ravi Varman and editing by Sreekar Prasad. Mani Ratnam co-wrote the film with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan. The first teaser of the film was released recently and has crossed 8 million views on YouTube. Conceived as a duology, the first part is scheduled to release on September 30.
