Even as Vijay is currently working on Varisu with Vamshi Paidipally, the hype for his next film Thalapathy67 has not died down. While the actor is expected to collaborate with Lokesh Kanagaraj, with whom he did Master, again, it is now reported that actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu will also play a crucial role in the film.

According to reports, Samantha is expected to play a cop, who will be the antagonist in the film. While an official announcement on the same has not been made yet, Samantha and Vijay have earlier acted together in Theri, Mersal, and Kaththi. Samantha has earlier played antagonist in the second season of The Family Man series and Tamil film 10 Endrathukulla.
