Vetri Maaran to spearhead a web series based on Jallikattu

Director Vetri Maaran will be serving as the showrunner for an upcoming Tamil series based on Jallikattu. The show, which is currently under production, is being directed by Vetri Maaran's erstwhile associate Raj Kumar, who earlier directed the 2018 film, Annanukku Jai.

The yet-to-be-titled series will feature actor Sheela Rajkumar, known for her performance in Draupathi and Mandela, will be playing the lead role. Likewise, R Velraj, a frequent collaborator of Vetri Maaran, having worked on Vada Chennai and Asuran, will be serving as the cinematographer on the series. Although an official announcement is awaited, sources close to the team say that the series will premiere on Aha.

Further details are related to the project are currently under wraps. Vetri, on the other hand, is currently working on Viduthalai, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Soori in the lead roles. He is also set to direct Suriya in Vaadivaasal. Speculations are also rife that the filmmaker will be teaming up with Kamal Haasan for a forthcoming project.
