We had previously reported that actor Kamal Haasan, who has hosted all the five seasons of Bigg Boss Tamil and the recently commenced Bigg Boss Ultimate, had to step down from being the host of the online streaming show. According to reports, Silambarasan will be getting into the shoes of Kamal for the rest of this season.

While an official confirmation is yet to be announced by the makers of the show, a source close to the actor says that the announcement will soon be made with a video featuring the Maanaadu actor. Interestingly, the actor was initially attached to the first season of Tamil reality show Survivor. However, the show, which premiered on Zee Tamil, had Arjun in the role of the host.

Bigg Boss Ultimate is a spin-off of the hit reality show and it's currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. The series stars the contestants from the earlier seasons of Bigg Boss Tamil.

Kamal had to stop hosting the show because of his film commitments. The veteran actor is currently working on Vikram, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and co-starring Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil.
