Tamil film lyricist Lalithanand no more

Lalithanand, who rose to fame with the En Veetula Naan Irundhene number from Idharkkudhaane Aasaipattai Balakumara, had reportedly been unwell for some time

Noted Tamil lyricist Lalithanand passed away at a private hospital in Chennai on Sunday. He was 47.

Lalithanand, who rose to fame with the En Veetula Naan Irundhene number from Idharkkudhaane Aasaipattai Balakumara, had reportedly been unwell for some time and was admitted at a private hospital in Adyar.  t 

The lyricist made his debut by writing songs for Adhey Neram Adhey Idam, and went on to pen the lyrics for films like Rowthiram, Maanagaram, Kashmora, Junga, Thirumanam and Anbirkiniyal. A regular collaborator of director Gokul, Lalithanand has also penned songs for Corona Kumar, the filmmaker's upcoming film with Silambarasan TR. 

Apart from being an acclaimed lyricist, Lalithanand was also a noted poet, who published compilation of poems titled Lemuriavil Irundha Kaadhali and Oru Elumichaiyin Varalaru.
