Here's the first look poster of Yogi Babu, Lakshmi Menon's Malai

There is no doubt that one of the busiest actors in Tamil cinema, or rather Indian cinema itself is Yogi Babu. How he manages to figure out the dates for so many projects, which not only feature him as a comedian but also as a lead, would be a fine case study on call sheet scheduling.

We had earlier reported that Yogi Babu was teaming up with actor Lakshmi Menon for debut director IP Murugesh's Malai. Now, the team released the first look poster of the film, which showcases the hilly area setting of the film, and the lifestyle of its inhabitants.

An erstwhile assistant of Susienthiran and Seenu Ramasamy, Murugesh, in an earlier interaction, said, "Malai is about a young doctor who is accustomed to the city lifestyle but has to visit a village. What happens when she meets a fake village doctor and both end up having conflicts over various issues form the rest of the story. Malai is a social drama that deals with human emotions and how people have preconceived notions about certain topics they aren't accustomed to."

Apart from Yogi Babu and Lakshmi, Malai stars Kaali Venkat, Singampuli and Ramachandran in pivotal roles. Shot predominantly in and around Theni, Malai has cinematography by Theni Eswar, and music by D Imman.

Backed by by R Ganesh Moorthy, and G Soundarya of Lemon Leaf Creation P LTD, Malai has dialogues by Bhaskar Sakthi, and editing by Mu Kasi Vishwanathan.
