Pre-production begins for Jigarthanda 2
The sequel was announced on the 8th year anniversary of Jigarthanda's release
The pre-production of Jigarthanda 2 commenced on Wednesday, marking the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi, filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj announced on Twitter. He wrote, "Another few crimes & an art."
On August 1, 2022, when Jigarthanda completed eight years, the director had revealed that the sequel's script work was underway. Meanwhile, the makers are yet to announce the further details of the cast and crew for the sequel. The announcement video featured the making video of the first instalment with intercuts of preparing actual Jigarthanda (cold beverage).
The 2014 action comedy film, written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, was produced by Kathiresan's Group. It featured Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Lakshmi Menon, Karunakaran and Guru Somasundaram.The film won two National Film Awards for Best Supporting Actor for Bobby Simha and Best Editing for Vivek Harshan.
