Ponniyin Selvan team to release new trailer at audio launch

The team had earlier released a first-look teaser on 8 July

It was earlier reported that the makers of Ponniyin Selvan are gearing up for a massive audio launch on 6 September. Now, they have announced that a new trailer will be released during the event. Lyca Productions made the announcement with a poster on Twitter. The audio launch is confirmed to be taking place at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. The team had earlier released a first-look teaser on 8 July. 

The film is an adaptation of Kalki’s novel of the same name which was released in 1954. Many notable Tamil film personalities have attempted to adapt the literary classic into a film, including MGR and Kamal Hassan. The film, which is set to release in two parts, is directed by Mani Ratnam and has music composed by A R Rahman. Tamil writers Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan have penned the screenplay for the film. The ensemble cast includes Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Vikram, Prakash Raj Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Parthiban, Sarathkumar, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Vikram Prabhu.

Ponniyin Selvan-I is currently scheduled to release on 30 September 2022, the sequel is awaiting a release date. The film is set to release in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
