We had earlier reported that actor Gautham Karthik's next is a murder mystery helmed by debutant director Dhakshina Moorthy. It's now known that actor Sarath Kumar will play the second male lead in the film.

Speaking about the development, Dhakshina Moorthy says, "We have seen Sarath sir in police roles before, but in this film, we will see him play a different type of cop for the first time—a rural cop who is calm and witty. Sarath sir is pitted against Gautham's character, an accused entwined in the case. There are no villains in this film and the story is about a murder case that involves both Sarath sir and Gautham. We have seen a lot of murder mysteries, but this story, set up in Madurai, will be a never-seen-before portrayal of the town."

The team will begin shooting with Sarath next month. The untitled film also stars Janani, Raveena Ravi and Dheepshika playing the female leads. However, the director affirms that none of them will be seen as Gautham's love interest in the film.

With music by Sam CS, the film's cinematography is by Aravinnd Singh and the editing is handled by Koozhangal-fame Ganesh Siva. The film is jointly produced by IB Karthikeyan of Big Print Pictures, Muralikrishna Vankayalapati of Tripura Creations, and Venkata Srinivas Boggaram of Tauras Cinecorp.
