ZEE5 announces upcoming slate of releases 

Streaming platform ZEE5, which is basking the success of its Tamil original series Vilangu, has announced its next slate of releases. The announcements were made at the streamer's anniversary event titled Oru Awesome Thodakkam. 

Along with this month's release, Anantham directed by Priya and starring Prakashraj, Sampath and Amrutha, the streamer announced eight new originals. 

Fingertip, the series that throws light on the evils of technology has been renewed for season 2. Shivakar, who helmed the original has also directed this season, which has a bigger star cast including names like Aparna Balamurali, Prasanna and Regina Cassandra. Season 2 won't be an anthology like the first one. 

SR Prabhakaran of Sundarapandian fame will be making his digital debut with the crime drama series Kolaigara Kairegaigal, starring Kalaiyarasan, Vani Bhojan and Prem. 

Ayali, the surprise project, about which the makers were extremely tight-lipped, is a film starring Malayalam actor Anumol in the lead. It is directed by debutant Muthukumar and it has cinematography by Ramji. 

Marma Desam-fame Naga is back to doing what he does the best: Directing thrillers. His new series for ZEE5 has been titled Aindham Vidhi.

Director Vasantha Balan, will be making his web series debut with Thalaimai Seyalagam. Starring Radika Sarathkumar in the lead, the series is said to be an edge of the seat thriller.

Kirtuthiga Udhayanidhi's Paper Rocket talks about death in a light-hearted way. The multi-starrer series has Kalidas Jayaram, Tanya Ravichandran, Renuka and Karunakaran playing the leads. Said to be a musical, the series has seven songs composed by Dharan Kumar, Simon King and Ved Shankar. 

Five Six Seven Eight is director Vijay's latest offering and the series is also a musical that follows the life of a bunch of underprivileged kids who aspire to become successful dancers. The series has Ditya Bhande and a bunch of other kids who starred in 2018's Lakshmi playing the lead. 

The biggest announcement of the night was Vetri Maaran-Ameer's Nilamellam Ratham. The show is said to be a raw and brutal take on rural crimes. Apart from being the showrunner, Vetri will also be producing the series and Ameer will be playing the lead in it. The crime drama will be directed by Pagaivan and Adhu-fame Ramesh Balakrishnan and it has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. 

ZEE5 is yet to announce the premiere date of these projects.
