Actor Vijay's Beast has been in development for some months now, and actor Pooja Hegde has resumed shooting for the film in Chennai earlier today.

Beast marks Pooja's return to Tamil cinema after 2012's Mugamoodi. In a statement, the actor expressed her excitement for the film and said, "The Tamil audience has been so kind and enthusiastic about Beast. The excitement is mutual. It's great to be back in Chennai. It is like the epicentre of happening things in the state. The highlight of my stopover in Chennai is that its cuisine is a foodie's dream."

"With the shoot of Beast resuming, the viewers from here have been so connected with me online that the city feels like home. We are working very hard to bring the audience a compelling film," added Pooja.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Beast is billed as an action-packed entertainer. There are no details available about the plot and the character played by Pooja.

Selvaraghavan, VTV Ganesh, Liliput Faruqui, Ankur Ajit Vikal, Yogi Babu and Malayalam actors Shine Tom Chacko, and Aparna Das are also part of the cast.

The film has music by Anirudh and cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa. The makers are reportedly aiming for a Pongal 2022 release.

Meanwhile, Pooja also has Acharya with Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi, Radhe Shyam with Prabhas, SSMB28 opposite Mahesh Babu, Cirkus with Ranveer Singh, and Bhaijaan with Salman Khan coming up.
