Kamal Haasan thanks MK Stalin, Rajinikanth and others in statement after discharge from hospital

The actor, discharged from the hospital, released a statement on social media to confirm that he was doing fine.

Kamal Haasan announced on Monday that his stay in the hospital was over and that he was doing fine.

His statement, written in Tamil, was shared on all his social media accounts soon after he was discharged from the hospital. In the statement, Kamal also thanked the team of doctors led by Dr JSN Moorthy. He said that they treated him like a brother. He said, "My heartfelt thanks go to my brother, Mahendran, and my team members who, skipping food and sleep, looked after me." He also expressed his thanks to his daughter Shruti and Akshara Haasan.

He also thanked a number of political leaders, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, for their wishes. The extensive list of people that Kamal was grateful to also included Rajinikanth, Ilaiyaraaja, Vairamuthu, Sathyaraj, Sripriya and Sarathkumar.

He also thanked the director of his upcoming film Vikram -- Lokesh Kanagaraj -- for handling his absence efficiently on the sets. In addition to this, he also thanked his Bigg Boss unit. He then said, "My wholehearted thanks go to lakhs of Tamil people, who, considering me as one of their own, shed tears for me and kept me in their prayers. I do not know if prayers yield results. But I do know the power of your love. For is it not your love that has saved me from Corona?"
