Sun Pictures recently held a success meet for their recent release Jailer. The evnet was attended by producer Kalanithi Maran, director Nelson, music director Anirudh, actor Rajinikanth, along with the rest of the cast and crew.
After giving plaque's to the cast and crew to commemorate the event, actor Rajinikanth took to the stage to thank Jailer's team. Registering his appreciation for the cast and crew, the actor then gets candid. "To be honest, the happiness of Jailer's success only lasted for five days. After that my mind moved on to the next film and now I'm stressing about it. Now how am I supposed to deliver a hit that surpassess this film or even meets it? that's what the people would expect. I am really tensed about that," he said.
Rajinikanth then recollects how he strategised his next move after the humongous success of Baasha in 1995. "Since I used to do only aorund 1 film a year during that time, after the success of Baasha, I planned to do something that was tonally different from Baasha next, and that's how Muthu happened."
Talking about hoe the success of Jailer has pushed him to work hard on his upcoming projects, Rajinikanth said, "The next film should be atleast 70 to 80 percent of what this film turned out to be. Jailer has given me confidence that if you have a producer like Kala sir, a director like Nelson, and the technician's like in this film, you can achieve anything."
Rajinikanth will next be seen in a film directed by TJ Gnanavel. Tentatively titled Thalaivar 170, the film is being backed by Lyca Productions. After that, he will be joining hands with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for Thalaivar 171 for Sun Pictures.
