The dubbing of Venkat Prabhu's scifi political thriller Maanaadu began today after a small pooja at the studio. The Silambarasan TR-starrer has been progressing at a consistent pace despite the pandemic.

The teaser of the film, which was released on February 3, gained attention for its time reversal concept. Netizens even compared it to Christopher Nolan's Tenet. The teaser revealed that the film is planned as a multilingual release, with the other language versions being titled Rewind

With music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Richard M Nathan, the film has Kalyani Priyadarshan playing the female lead. Maanaadu also stars SJ Suryah, Bharathiraja, Manoj Bharathiraja, SA Chandrasekhar, and Premgi Amaren.

Simbu was last seen in Susienthiran's Eeswaran. He will be soon be seen in Obeli N Krishna's Pathu Thala, alongside Gautham Karthik. The actor has also signed Gautham Vasudev Menon's Nadhigalilae Neeradum Suriyan.

Kalyani Priyadarshan, on the other hand, is awaiting the release of Marakkar and is a part of Hridhayam, co-starring Pranav Mohanlal.
