Andrew Garfield denies being part of Spider-Man: No Way Home

Ever since Marvel's Spider-Man: No Way Home was announced, there have been rumours that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield would reprise their roles as Spiderman in the MCU film, which has Tom Holland as the friendly neighbourhood superhero. Garfield has now denied being part of the upcoming film.

The 2019 MCU film Spider-Man: Far From Home hinted at the possibility of Marvel exploring the multiverse concept, and with Alfred Molina's Doc Ock and Jamie Foxx's Electro set to appear in the upcoming movie, speculations grew. Reports even claimed that Daredevil star Charlie Coxx would reprise his role as Matt Murdock in the film. Though Tom Holland denied the rumours, there is no clarity about what the studios have planned for the fans.

Now, in an interview with Josh Horowitz for his Happy Sad Confused podcast, Andrew Garfield has denied his involvement with the film. The actor said that he has no idea what the studios are doing, and that he is not part of the plans. "It feels like I am in the Werewolf game or in Mafia, where I have to convince everyone I am not the werewolf or a part of the mafia," he said. When Horowitz asked for a clear yes or no, Garfield said, "I would have gotten a call by now. Maybe they want to call me, but they haven't yet called me."

Maguire played the superhero in Sam Raimi's Spiderman trilogy, while Garfield played the character in The Amazing Spiderman 1 and 2.

Marvel Studios and Sony Entertainment are yet to provide any clarity on the rumours. Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled for release this December.
