Actor Jagapathi Babu is the latest to join the cast of Rajinikanth's Annaatthe. Sun Pictures, the banner that is bankrolling the Siva directorial, shared the news on social media earlier today.

Interestingly, this is the second time the actor is teaming up with both Siva and Rajini in Tamil cinema. While Jagapathi Babu worked with Siva on the Ajith Kumar-starrer Viswasam, he earlier shared screen space with Rajini in the KS Ravikumar film, Lingaa

The shooting of Annaatthe, which began in December last year, was halted a few times owing to COVID-19 and related complications. Filming is now back on track and is currently underway in Chennai. Post the Chennai schedule, the team will move to Coimbatore and Pollachi to complete the rest of the film.

Annaatthe also stars Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Meena, Khushbu, Prakash Raj, and Soori. With music by Imman, the film is slated for release this Diwali.
