AR Rahman on board Krishna Vamsi's Annam

AR Rahman has joined the team of Krishna Vamsi's upcoming film, Annam, as the music composer. The film with the tagline, 'Parabrahma Swaroopam', marks the double Academy Award-winner's return to Telugu cinema after five years.

Annam takes on the topic of food adulteration and its effect on people, and director Krishna Vamsi is leaving no stone unturned to make it a hard-hitting social drama.

The film's pre-production work has begun recently and the principal photography will begin in the second half of this year. While Chiranjeevi's name is being thrown around as one of the contenders for the lead role, Krishna Vamsi has vehemently denied the news. We hear that the Murari director is keen on roping in a popular young actor for the part.

Krishna Vamsi had begun work on Rangamarthanda, a remake of the Marathi drama Natsamrat. However, the film starring Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishnan has been put on hold due to various undisclosed reasons, leading Krishna Vamsi to shift focus to Annam.
