Alia Bhatt's look as Sita in RRR out

Alia is paired opposite Ram Charan in the SS Rajamouli period action entertainer

Alia Bhatt treated fans to the first look of her character, Sita, in RRR (Roudram Ranam Rudhiram) on the occasion of her birthday today. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the period action entertainer marks her debut in Telugu cinema. Alia is paired opposite Ram Charan, who plays the younger version of Alluri Sitaraju in the film.

Alia appears draped in a green saree with a puffed-sleeve blouse in the poster. In her brand new avatar, the actor matches her traditional outfit with a long gold chain, loose curly hair, a round red bindi, and earrings.

Introducing Alia Bhatt as Sita, Rajamouli shared the first look poster and described her character as 'strong-willed and resolvent'.

Alia, who was supposed to join the sets of RRR last week to shoot a romantic song with Charan, had to postpone the plans due to the COVID-19 scare. The next schedule of the film will commence soon in Hyderabad.

Set in the pre-independence era of the 1920s, the core idea of RRR is inspired by the Hollywood film, The Motorcycle Diaries. The film tells the fictional story of two revolutionary Telugu freedom fighters — Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem, played by Ram Charan and Jr NTR, respectively.

Bankrolled by DVV Danayya at an estimated budget of Rs 450 crore, RRR is slated for release simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and six other Indian languages on October 13, 2021.
