Zoey Deutch, who was last seen in Zombieland: Double Tap, is set to star in Not Okay. Billed as a satire, the film will be written and directed by actor-filmmaker Quinn Shephard, who made her directorial debut with the 2017 film Blame.
According to sources, the film will follow a young woman, played by Deutch, who fakes a trip to Paris with an intention to enhance her social media presence and gain friends and fame. Bankrolled by Searchlight Pictures in association with Makeready, the film is expected to enter production soon. Deutch will also be serving as an executive producer on the film.
Caroline Jaczko, who produced Hugh Jackman-starrer Bad Education, will producing the film in association with Brad Weston and Negin Salmasi.
Deutch, whose acting credits include Everybody Wants Some, Why Him?, Before I Fall , Flower, and Rebel in the Rye, will also been seen in The Outfit, alongside Mark Rylance, Dylan O'Brien, and Johnny Flynn.
