Dhanush: I don't see myself directing in next three years; excited to work with young, talented directors

Dhanush has revealed that he has no plans of directing a feature film in the next three years and that he is currently focusing on capitalising on working with talented directors.

In a special Twitter Space that was held to celebrate the music launch of his upcoming Karthik Subbaraj film Jagame Thandhiram, Dhanush took multiple questions from fans and his teammates.

When asked about his next directing project, he said "I do have scripts and I want to direct a feature film. However, I am getting opportunities to work with some exciting, talented directors like Mari Selvaraj, Ram and Karthik Subbaraj. In fact, I met three young, talented directors recently. I want to capitalise on these young talents, and so I don't see myself directing for the next 3 years."

Notably, Dhanush made his directing debut with the 2017-feature Power Paandi. The film which starred Raj Kiran and Revathi in the lead was critically acclaimed after the release.

Jagame Thandhiram's special Twitter Space, which was hosted by Sony Music South and anchored by stand-up comedian and actor Alexander Babu, also featured director Karthik, music composer Santhosh Narayanan, singers Arivu, Dhee, Anthony Daasan, and lyricist Vivek among many others.

Produced by Sashikanth, under his banner Y Not Studios, Jagame Thandhiram also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, Kalaiyarasan, Sanchana Natarajan and James Cosmo. The film will premiere on Netflix on June 18.
