Indiana Jones 5 to begin shooting next week

The fifth installment in the popular Indian Jones film series is set to begin shooting in the United Kingdom next week, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the first film, Raiders of the Lost Ark. Ever since the release of the fourth film Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008, in spite of the mixed critical reception, the fifth part has remained highly anticipated.

The upcoming film will also be the first film in the series not to be directed by Steven Spielberg, with James Mangold, who last directed the Academy Award-nominated Ford v Ferrari in 2019, stepping into Spielberg's shoes. Speilberg, who is serving as a producer, will remain creatively involved, though.

While it was earlier reported that Harrison Ford will be reprising the hat-donning, adventurous titular character, new additions to the cast include Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Thomas Kretschmann.

John Willaims, who composed the film's iconic theme, will be returning as the music composer.

The film is currently scheduled to hit the marquee on July 29, 2022.
