Kadiff Kirwan joins Amazon's My Policeman

British actor Kadiff Kirwan, best-known for his performances in Timewasters and Chewing Gum has joined the cast of the upcoming Amazon original film, My Policeman. The film stars Harry Styles, Emma Corin, and David Dawson in the lead roles.

An adaptation of Bethan Roberts' 2012 novel by the same name, the film explores this same-sex relationship between Tom, played by Styles, and Patrick, played by Dawson, in the 1950s.

Screenwriter Ron Nyswaner, who has worked on several homosexuality-themed films, including the Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington-starrer Philadelphia, for which was also nominated for an Academy Award, will be adapting Roberts' novel into a feature film script.

Michael Grandage, known for directing the 2016-film Genius, starring Colin Firth, Jude Law, and Nicole Kidman, will be directing My Policeman.

Kirwan, whose acting credits also include the Netflix film The Stranger and This Way Up was last seen in Pokémon Detective Pikachu.
