Actor Alice Braga will star opposite Ben Affleck in Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming thriller Hypnotic.

Written by Rodrigues and Max Borenstein (Kong: Skull Island), Hypnotic follows a detective who, while investigating a string of high-end crimes, gets entangled in a mystery that involves his missing daughter and a secret government program.

Hypnotic was initially scheduled to start productions in April 2020, before getting postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film is now gearing up to start production in September this year.

Rodriguez, Studio 8 CEO Jeff Robinov and Studio8’s Guy Danella and John Graham are producing Hypnotic with Solstice.

Director Rodriguez is known for making Sin City and Alita: Battle Angel.

Meanwhile, Braga will be seen next in The Suicide Squad, alongside Margo Robbie, Idris Elba and Viola Davis. She is known for recently starring in Queen Of The South, Luca Guadagnino’s We Are Who We Are, and the Oscar-winning Pixar film Soul.

Affleck is busy with the production works for DC’s The Flash, which will reportedly be Affleck's final film as DCEU's Batman. Affleck is also involved in post-production on George Clooney’s Tender Bar, Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel and Adrian Lyne’s Deep Water.
