Master, the much-anticipated Vijay-Lokesh Kanagaraj film, which has been gearing up for release on Wednesday (January 13) has run into hot water. Scenes from the film were leaked on social media today, which lead to furore from both fans and the makers themselves.

Producers of the film, XB Film Creators took to social media to express their disappointment and urged people to refrain from sharing these clips. They said, "Team Master requests you all not to forward/share any leaked content and if you come across anything of this sorts, please share it with us at report@blockxpiracy.com"

Director Lokesh put out a heartfelt message on social media and said, "Dear all, It's been a 1.5-year-long struggle to bring Master to you. All we have is hope that you'll enjoy it in theatres. If you come across leaked clips from the movie, please don't share it. Thank you all. Love you all. One more day and Master is all yours."

The film, which also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Arjun Das, Andrea Jeremiah, and Malavika Mohanan, was hailed by the exhibitors association for waiting for theatres to reopen instead of opting for an OTT release.

Although this comes as a setback for all parties involved, there is no word yet about any change in the release date due to this circumstance. Master is still expected to be a Pongal release and hit screens on January 13.
