Doctor Who ropes in John Bishop as new companion

Actor John Bishop has been roped in as the new companion for the 13th season of Doctor Who.

The recent New Year's Day special, Revolutions of the Daleks, continued with Jodie Whittaker's 13th Doctor, and her companions Yaz (Mandip Gill), Ryan (Tosin Cole), and Graham (Bradley Walsh). With the Doctor still inside the Judoon's high-security, her companions get help from the recently returned Captain Jack (John Barrowman), to battle the Daleks invading Earth.

Revolution of the Daleks is also the final episode for the fan-favourtie characters, Ryan and Graham. Yaz, Ryan and Graham have been the 13th Doctor's companions since Jodie Whittaker's debut in Season 11.

However, as shown at the end of the special, Yaz will not be left alone henceforth, but will be joined by new companion, Dan, portrayed by popular comedian and actor John Bishop. The 54-year-old stand-up comedian and actor is known for appearing in Skins, Route Irish, and more recently in Fearless.
