AR Rahman to compose for Simbu-Gautham Menon's next

We had recently reported that Gautham Menon is reuniting with Simbu for the third time for a project, which will be bankrolled by Vels Film International. Now, the makers have tweeted that AR Rahman is on board as the composer for this film. Interestingly, Simbu's other upcoming film, Pathu Thala, also has Rahman as the music director.

The trio of Rahman, Gautham, and Simbu have previously worked together on Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010) and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (2016). This will be their third film together.

Simbu, who was recently seen in Susienthiran's Eeswaran, is currently awaiting the release of Venkat Prabhu's Maanaadu. He will also be seen in Obeli N Krishna's Pathu Thala, alongside Gautham Karthik.

Meanwhile, Gautham, who recently celebrated 20 years since his debut in Tamil cinema, is also helming a segment in Netflix's anthology series, Navarasa, starring Suriya. He has also directed a short in Vels Film International's upcoming anthology, Kutty Story, which will be released theatrically on February 12.
