Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer ropes in Neve Campbell

Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer has roped in Neve Campbell to star alongside Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.

Michael Connelly's 2005 novel series has gained more popularity over the years. It first led to the 2011 film adaptation starring Matthew McConaughey . While that adaptation was based on the first book, Netflix's adaptation will focus on the second book of the series, titled The Brass Verdict. The Lincoln Lawyer is the story of Mickey Haller, a criminal justice attorney who operates his practice out of his Lincoln Town car in Los Angeles.

Screenrant reported that the ten-episode series was expected to air on CBS in 2020, however, the COVID-19 pandemic halted the productions. CBS pulled the plug on the show, and now the series is under production in Netflix.

The latest addition, Neve Campbell, is known for her role in Scream. She previously starred in two seasons of House of Cards, and was more recently seen in Disney+'s Clouds and Universal's film Skyscraper. Netflix took to Twitter to announce her casting. Campbell is set to play Maggie McPherson, a Deputy District Attorney who also happens to be the ex-wife of Garcia-Rulfo's lead character Mickey Haller.

David E Kelley (Big Littlle Lies) will write the series and executively produce, alongside Michael Connelly. Ted Humphrey (The Good Wife, Wisdom of the Crowd) will also co-write, executive producer, and run the show. Ross Fineman (Goliath, Big Sky) is also executively producing the show.
