Mugen Rao's debut film titled Vettri

Directed by Veppam-fame Anjana, Vettri will star Miss India Anukeerthy Vas opposite the Bigg Boss winner

Bigg Boss Season 3 title winner, singer Mugen Rao's debut film has been titled Vettri. The film marks Veppam filmmaker Anjana's comeback.

Backed by Shirdi Productions, Vettri has Miss India Anukeerthy Vas playing the female lead. It also features Kishore and Anupama Kumar as the parents of Mugen's character.

Anjana says Vettri will be a coming-of-age drama of a boy who grows up amidst violence. "The film traces the journey of a boy from his school days to the point where he gets a job. The entire team felt that Mugen would be the right fit for the role, as it demanded someone really young who can pull off the raging scenes efficiently."

The team will start shooting from October 5 and the film will be shot entirely in Chennai. Anjana feels that shooting for the film with the ongoing restrictions is a blessing in disguise. "Since we have to shoot with limited members, I believe our work will be more efficient now. The film has certain sequences which demand crowds; we will have to wait for the restrictions to be lifted to shoot those."

It may be recalled that SA Chandrasekar's 1984 film was titled Vetri and it starred Vijaykanth in the lead.

Vettri has music by Nivas K Prasanna, cinematography by Rathnavelu, and editing by Anthony.
