Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and DB Weiss have signed a deal with Netflix for an English series adaptation of the Chinese book trilogy Remembrance of Earth's Past, written by Liu Cixin. This series is part of the $200 million deal between the Game Of Thrones creators and Netflix.

Along with Benioff and Weiss, Alexander Woo will also co-write and executive produce the series. Apart from these names, the series boasts an impressive line of names such as Rian Johnson, Brad Pitt and Rosamund Pike who will serve as executive producers

Liu Cixin's novel three-part novel series - The Three-Body Problem, The Dark Forest, and Death's End - is about human contact with aliens and it spans several years from 1960 to the end of time. Variety quoted Liu as saying, “I have the greatest respect for and faith in the creative team adapting The Three-Body Problem for television audiences. I set out to tell a story that transcends time and the confines of nations, cultures and races; one that compels us to consider the fate of humankind as a whole. It is a great honour as an author to see this unique sci-fi concept travel and gain fandom across the globe, and I am excited for new and existing fans all over the world to discover the story on Netflix.”

On the other hand, Benioff and Weiss said, “Liu Cixin’s trilogy is the most ambitious science-fiction series we’ve read, taking readers on a journey from the 1960s until the end of time, from life on our pale blue dot to the distant fringes of the universe. We look forward to spending the next years of our lives bringing this to life for audiences around the world.”
