Adipurush to be released during Independence Day weekend in 2022

Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan-starrer Adipurush will be released on August 11, 2022. With Independence Day 2022 falling on a Monday, the film will have a 5-day extended opening at the box office, releasing in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

A supposed adaptation of the Ramayana, Adipurush is directed by Om Raut. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar of T- Series, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair of Retrophiles.

The film is presently in the pre-production stage. It is scheduled to go on floors in January 2021. 

“Adipurush is my dream project and dreams of a director cannot be accomplished without a team,” Om Raut had previously stated. “I have Prabhas to help me translate my vision on the screen and our producer, Bhushan Kumar, has been a pillar of strength and understanding with his unconditional support through this initial phase of our journey. It will be a great chance to work with both of them.”
