Judd Apatow to helm a comedy for Netflix
Apatow, who previously collaborated with Netflix on Love, as a co-creator, and released the stand-up special, Judd Apatow - The Return, will make his digital directorial debut with this project
Judd Apatow, known for films like The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up, will helm a pandemic-inspired comedy for Netflix. The untitled project will be Apatow’s digital debut as a director.
According to reports, the film is about a bunch of actors who are stuck at a hotel, as part of a bubble, trying to complete a film. Apart from direction, Apatow has also co-written the script with Pam Brady, known for her work in South Park.
The filmmaker will also be producing the project under his Apatow Productions banner, with frequent collaborator Barry Mendel attached as executive producer.
Apatow earlier collaborated with Netflix on the dramedy series Love, where he is credited as co-creator. He also did a stand-up special titled, Judd Apatow - The Return, which is streaming on the platform.
