The popular Venice Film Festival will happen as per initial plans, according to Luca Zaia, Governor of Veneto. He said that the film festival will be conducted from September 2 to 12.

However, Zaia noted that this year the number of films screened at the festival will be less as the coronavirus scare has stopped international connectivity.

It is also expected that this year the festival will be different as it will be conducted based on the conditions and regulations that are laid out to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

It was earlier confirmed that the Venice Film Festival will not screen films virtually like many other film festivals across the globe. Yet, the organisers are also considering the options of digital release for those who will be unable to attend the festival. The plans for the festival are yet to be announced.
