As the entertainment industry has been pushed to a stall due to the coronavirus pandemic, Vijay TV has offered a relief amount of Rs 75 lakh to the workers who work on the channel’s content.

Two content producers, who produce shows and serials for Vijay TV, have taken to social media to thank the channel for its help.

“Thanks to the lockdown, people like us who depend on producing content for Vijay TV, haven’t been able to work the entire month of April. It is great that Vijay Tv took stock of all workers involved through various production houses and ensured that they got the relief fund,” said a post by Global Villagers.

“Around 750 members of FEFSI, who dominantly worked on Vijay TV’s content were not able to work in April. The relief amount provided by the channel would equal to what they would have earned during the month,” wrote Ramana Giri Vasan, the head of Fiction Team.

Notably, the Tamilnadu government recently allowed post-production work to resume for films and television programmes, in adherence to the guidelines prescribed.
