‘End of our story’: Neetu Kapoor bids farewell to Rishi Kapoor
Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30 after a two-year-long battle with cancer
Neetu Kapoor has bid farewell to her husband Rishi Kapoor with an Instagram post. Sharing a picture of Rishi holding a drink, Neetu wrote, “End of our story.”
Rishi and Neetu Kapoor were married for 40 years. They had met on the sets of the film Zehreela Insaan (1974) and fallen in love. Their wedding happened in 1980. On screen, they collaborated on 12 films, including Amar Akbar Anthony, Rafoo Chakkar, Khel Khel Mein, Kabhi Kabhi, Love Aaj Kal and Do Dooni Chaar. Their last appearance together was in Besharam (2013), also starring their son Ranbir Kapoor. They also have a daughter, Riddhima.
Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30 after a two-year-long battle with leukaemia. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and had sought treatment in the US for almost a year. His last acting appearance was in Jeethu Joseph’s The Body, on Netflix. He was meant to star alongside Deepika Padukone in the Indian remake of The Intern. Another film, titled Sharmaji Namkeen, was partially shot and remains unfinished. It also starred Juhi Chawla.
