Pawan Kalyan's Vakeel Saab has a new addition. Almost three years after her last outing with the actor-turned-politician, Shruti Haasan has been roped in to play a crucial role in the social-thriller and will join the sets shortly.

Directed by Sriram Venu, Vakeel Saab is the remake of Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Pink and it has Nivetha Thomas, Anjali, and Ananya Nagalla reprising the roles of Taapsee Pannu, Kriti Kulhari and Andrea Tariang, respectively, from the original Hindi film.

Although it is an open secret that Shruti plays the role of Pawan's wife in the film, the makers remain tight-lipped about her character.

"Shruti plays a small yet significant part, which will come in the flashback sequences. Her character gets a completely different treatment from the original. She will join the sets sometime in the next two weeks," says a source.

The film's first look poster and the first song, Maguva Maguva, which was released as a tribute to women, have both gone viral on social media.

Produced by Dil Raju and with music by SS Thaman, Vakeel Saab will be released on May 15.
