Akshay Kumar, Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan-starrer Atrangi Re goes on floors

Aanand L Rai’s upcoming directorial, Atrangi Re, went on floors today. The film, starring Akshay Kumar, Dhanush, and Sara Ali Khan, is set for release on Valentine’s Day, 2021.

The romantic drama film is said to follow two parallel narratives from different timelines. Sara is expected to play a dual role, with Dhanush and Akshay playing her lovers in each track. The film is likely to be set in Bihar and Madurai.

Dhanush made his Bollywood debut in  Raanjhanaa (2013). Atrangi Re marks his second collaboration with Aanand L Rai.  

Sara recently starred in Love Aaj Kal. The film, directed by Imtiaz Ali and co-starring Kartik Aaryan, was also set in two timelines.

Akshay has a host of releases in the coming months including Sooryavanshi, Laxxmi Bomb, Prithiviraj, Bell Bottom, and Bachchan Pandey.

Aanand L Rai’s last effort, Zero, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, and Katrina Kaif, was a box-office dud.
