Roman Polanski wins Cesar Award: Upset French actress Adele Haenel shots ‘well-done paedophilia’

A clip of French actress Adele Haenel has gone viral on social media, where she is seen shouting ‘Bravo la paedophilie’ even as she was walking out of the Cesar Awards ceremony. Adele was upset that Roman Polanski won the Best Director Award at the event. 

Polanski was accused of raping a minor in the US and hours before his sentence, the director fled the country to France and has not been travelling to countries where he could be extradited by the US government. 

Not just Adele Haenel, the host of the ceremony Florence Foresti also left the event halfway after Roman Polanski was awarded the Best Director title. Florence also wrote on Instagram. “Disgusted.”

Roman Polanski won the award for his film An Officer and A Spy. Ever since the award was announced many in the country have taken to the streets to protest against the honour. Many tried to enter the building where the ceremony was held, and police had to use pepper spray to control them, according to reports. 

Cesar Awards is considered to be the Academy Awards of French cinema.
