Ajay Devgn plays freedom fighter in SS Rajamouli’s RRR?

Ajay Devgn has an extended cameo in SS Rajamouli’s RRR. Set during the pre-Independence era, the film tells a fictional story of Indian freedom fighters Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem, played by Ram Charan and Jr NTR, respectively. According to reports, Ajay plays a nationalist and the duo’s mentor in the film. He appears in the flashback sequences and has shades of his performance from The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002), reports suggest.

Ajay had shot for the film in January this year. The setting of 20th century Delhi was created at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. “My association with Rajamouli sir dates back to 2012. We’ve collaborated in many interesting ways since. Working with him in RRR is an honour and pleasure,” Ajay had tweeted.

RRR also stars Alia Bhatt as Sita, who plays a pivotal part in the ideological clash between Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem, reports add. Alia has learned Telugu for the film and will start shooting once production resumes.

“Working with Rajamouli sir is a big big tick off my bucket list. Also, to be alongside Ram Charan and Jr. NTR is an absolute honour. I am excited about this experience and also working in the south for the first time. I will be playing the role of Sita, and the film is set in 1920s backdrop,” Alia had shared.
