Amy Adams, who was last seen in Vice, is again teaming up with Annapurna Pictures for the film adaptation of Rachel Yoder's upcoming debut novel, Nightbitch.
The production house has bagged the rights after a competitive auction, according to Hollywood Reporter.
This marks Amy's fifth collaboration with producer Megan Ellison and her Annapurna Pictures. She has previously worked in the production house's The Master, American Hustle, Her, and Vice.
In addition to writing the screenplay, Rachel Yonder will also be an executive producer of the film along with Megan Ellison.
Nightbitch is a dark comedy about motherhood. According to the synopsis on Yoder's website, the novel is about an unnamed woman and former artist, who is "thrust into stay-at-home domesticity after the birth of her son, and becomes worried she’s turning into a dog. Her husband, who travels for work five days a week, easily dismisses her fears from hotel rooms. Meanwhile, the mother is forced to contend with the very real physical manifestations of her solitary anxiety, with only her two-year-old son for company."
