Ayushmann Khurrana and director Abhishek Kapoor are set to collaborate for the first time. The as-yet-untitled film will be a love story set in North India. Ayushmann will essay the part of a cross-functional athlete. The film will go on floors in October.

Abhishek Kapoor has directed films like Kai Po Che!, Rock On, and Kedarnath. Ayushmann recently appeared in Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan.

“Abhishek has a very distinct voice in cinema today and I’m glad that we've finally got the opportunity to collaborate,” Ayushmann said in a statement. “This film has all the trappings to take audiences through a ride of emotions and it is a total family entertainer. It is a beautiful, progressive love story that will also touch your hearts.”

The actor is excited for the physical transformation required for the part. “I have never looked like this on-screen and I’m looking forward to seeing the reaction of audiences. The process is going to be intense and excruciating for me but I feel all the pain will be worth it,” he said.
