Actor Vijayalakshmi hospitalised after attempting suicide

Actor Vijayalakshmi has been hospitalised after she attempted suicide over alleged harassment by Naam Thamizhar party leader Seeman and Panankattu Padai party’s Hari Nadar. Vijayalakshmi is currently under treatment in a hospital in Chennai.

In a video released by her before the attempt, she says, "This is my last video. I would like to tell everyone that I've been under a lot of stress due to Seeman and his party men. A few days ago, Hari Nadar also humiliated me in the media. I've had enough."

The actor claims she was mentally harassed after she spoke out against Seeman. She added, "I've been tortured just because I'm from Karnataka. As a woman, I think this is my limit. Seeman is living the life he has today only because of Prabhakaran (LTTE leader). I belong to the same community as Prabhakaran, the Pillai community. Seeman was not bothered about community when he received alms from Prabhakaran. But today, he takes pride in humiliating a woman from the same community and slut shames me." She requested fans to not let Seeman get away with such acts and hoped her 'death would be an eye-opener'.

Vijayalakshmi is known for her roles in Tamil films such as Friends and Boss Engira Baskaran.
