George Clooney in talks to helm Amazon's film adaptation of The Tender Bar
Based on J R Moehringer's 2005 memoir, the film will be about his life growing up in Long Island in search of a father figure
George Clooney is in talks with Amazon Studios to direct and produce The Tender Bar. Based on J R Moehringer's 2005 memoir, the film will be about his life growing up in Long Island in search of a father figure.
The film adaptation is written by William Monahan, who won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for his work in The Departed. The 59-year-old actor-director and Grant Heslov will produce the film under the banner of Smokehouse Pictures if the deal gets finalised. It is not known if Clooney would also star in the film.
Clooney recently finished the production of Netflix's post-apocalyptic thriller Midnight Sky starring Felicity Jones. Some of his other directorial works include Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Leatherheads, Suburbicon and Ides of March.
