The Mumbai Police has recorded the statement of director-producer Aditya Chopra in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, reports state. Sushant died by suicide at his Mumbai home on June 14. He was 34. Following his death, it was alleged that Sushant had missed out on film offers due to a signed contract with Yash Raj Films.

Sushant had starred in the 2013 YRF production Shuddh Desi Romance, directed by Maneesh Sharma. It was followed by his titular role in Dibakar Banerjee’s Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015).

Earlier this week, Rhea had appealed to Home Minister Amit Shah for a CBI probe into the actor’s death. "I'm Sushant Singh Rajput's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty. It is now over a month since his sudden demise. I have complete faith in the government, however, in the interest of justice, I request you with folded hands to initiate a CBI enquiry into this matter. I only want to understand what pressures prompted Sushant to take this step,” she had written.
