Vijay Deverakonda not part of Lucifer remake
The actor will next be seen in director Puri Jagannadh's pan-Indian martial arts drama Liger
Speculation has been rife that Vijay Deverakonda will reprise Prithviraj Sukumaran's role in the Telugu remake of the Malayalam actioner Lucifer. However, a source close to the actor has called it a rumour and denied Vijay signing a new film.
"Vijay is completely focused on his next release, Liger, and has already committed a film each for Mythri Movie Makers and Dil Raju. He is also in talks with several Bollywood producers to explore a potential collaboration for a Hindi film. He would like to complete his present commitments before signing new projects," says a source close to Vijay Deverakonda.
Interestingly, the names of actors Allu Arjun, Ram Charan and Rana Daggubati were also attached to the project, but there seems to be no truth to these reports either. Directed by Sujeeth, the Telugu remake of Lucifer features Chiranjeevi in the lead role. The Malayalam version, starring Mohanlal and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, emerged as one of the biggest hits in that industry.
The Telugu remake is expected to go on floors soon after Chiru wraps up Acharya. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised.
